Skiing
The nursery slopes start at 1600m which guarantees good quality fresh snow throughout the season. At this height there is little ice unlike some resorts with lower nursery slopes.
Beginners are well catered for with safe, flat learning areas at Samoens and Morillon with the reassurance that, until they're ready to explore they can take the gondola back the valley floor. Samoens can boast the largest beginners area in Haute Savoie.
Intermediates Plenty of blue and red runs in this vast ski area with also some gentle and safe off piste areas (staying close to marked runs) perfect for the first attempts.
Off Piste
Between Croix and Golulles lifts, also from Tete des Saix straight down to Vernant lift. A number of "corridores" close to the "Vernant lift", the easiest one directly under the lift.
From Les Grands Vans follow the pist for a few hundred yards than walk/ski as long way to the right as you like, than you will have a nice run down to the tree limit, once you have reached the tree limit cross the pist and ski down to Flaine.
Best suggestion in Flaine is on both sides of the Gers lift where you have 600 vertical meters with perfect slope 35 - 45 degrees.
Also area of the diamant noir pist but watch out for cliffs
We recommend going off piste with a guided not just for safety but for some spectacular off piste descents with spectacular views of Mont Blanc Boarders There are three jam parks and plenty of bowles for fresh powder
