Samoens along with Flaine forms part of the Grand Massif with 265 kms of marked runs.
All the amenities on your door step supermarket, pubs, restaurants
and ski hire are all within 50 meters. Although it is one of the closest
chalets to the lifts (400 m flat walk) the ski bus even stops out side the
chalet.

Flaine is perhaps not the prettiest of ski villages but nearly all of the
accommodation on offer is on the slopes which offers a ski in ski out location.

The advantages of the four lower resorts is that they are traditional French
villages with plenty of shops, bars, cinemas and restaurants to enjoy, and with plenty to do if you have any non skiers in the group.
Geneva is only (55Km) away it offers one of the shortest transfers in
the Alpes. Prices are also generally lower than the top resort of Flaine.

Skiing Holiday Flaine - Grand Massif France
Located in the Haute Savoie region of the French Alps, Flaine forms part of the five resorts of the Grand Massif : Samoens, Flaine, Les Carroz, Morillon and Sixt-Fer-a-Cheval which are linked by 137 well maintained runs of 265 kms of pistes.
One is however allowed to drive up to your doorstep to load
and unload. Amenities are at walking distance and so also the bars and restaurants.

Flight to Flaine
The ski resort of Samoens is the closes resort from Geneva just 50 kms (30 miles) from the Geneva approximate 50 minutes by car it is ideal for long weekends. French ferry Ports are ( 540 miles) ideally located for self Drive. For those who self drive or hire a car the resorts of Les Gets and Morzine are close by.
Flaine is a little further 70 kms from Geneva and 1.15 transfer time. The resort of Flaine is pedestrian only. You are allowed to pick up and drop of on arrival and departure. Your car must then be parked in the designated areas. |
